Which wireless microphone should I get? What is the difference
between FM, VHF, and UHF?
There really is no difference in the working property of FM, VHF, and UHF except
that each one works in a higher frequency band (FM being the lowest, and UHF
being the highest). The idea is when you move up in the frequency band, you are
using channels that are less susceptible to interference. Keep in mind that
radio stations use FM while VHF and UHF share the domestic TV spectrum.
FM and VHF karaoke microphone systems are
manufactured using a fixed frequency while most UHF karaoke microphone systems
will allow you to jump to a different channel if you run into interference. You
have a better chance of finding a clear channel with UHF if you live in a
crowded RF environment (near radio stations, TV stations, etc...).
